Featuring: Pamela Hamilton, editor and publisher of Edible Phoenix magazine, a quarterly publication dedicated to seasonal, local food, representing the new book “Edible”; Mary Paganelli Votto, co-author with Frances Manuel of “From I’itoi’s Garden: Tohono O’odham Food Traditions; and Amy Valdés Schwemm of Desert Harvesters, a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization that encourages the planting of indigenous, food-bearing shade trees, and educates the public on harvesting and processing, with their book “Eat Mesquite!

Admission to the event is free.

The Locavore Kitchen highlighted above is just one of many panel discussions and demonstrations happening during the Tucson Festival of Books, during the weekend of March 12-13, 2011.
